I hope you all had a joyous Easter Sunday and that the blessings we receive will fulfill us throughout the whole year!
During this past Lenten season, St. Matthew School was very active. We did our bi-annual sandwich making for Bryan’s Angels, we donated toiletries to the Little Sisters of the Poor in Enfield and each class collected items to make 10 wonderful Easter baskets for families in need both in our parish and in our school. Please know Bryan’s Angels Outreach, the Sisters of the Poor and all the families were very appreciative of your donations. We do have a wonderfully generous community!
April will be a busy month for us here at St. Matthew School. We have Spring Break right in the middle and IOWA Assessments for the 3rd-7th grades at the end of the month. In between, we have many field trips happening as well as the Child Lures Program for all grades.
Also, please mark your calendars for our Annual Home and School Auction on April 28th starting @ 6:30 pm. The theme is “Boots and Bling” and is sure to be a good time! It is one of our biggest fundraisers, so please come and enjoy a night out to support our school!! If you are wondering how you can help with the evening, please come to the HSA General School meeting on April 25th @ 6:30 pm to have all your questions answered! Let’s make it the best auction ever!
As for the BIG question…when is the last day of school? Dare I risk a snow storm in April? Right now, barring no more snow days, we will be ending school on the 20th of June with a 12:30 pm dismissal. It was a particularly challenging year with all the beautiful snow the Lord granted us!!
All the best,
St. Matthew School Principal
