SUMMER VACATION

December 19th - the beginning of summer vacation!  These days have been full of the typical end of the year activities in a school; exams, report cards, cleaning, spring shows, and graduations.

I am taking everything in stride but yet keenly aware that I am still not quite adjusted to the opposites and the differents as Christmas approaches.

Recently I read the sixth grade essays on what Christmas means to them.  They were absolutely beautiful.  The girls wrote of a Christmas being not about presents and Papa Noel but being with their families and going to church.  As I read their essays I reflected on their insights.  Yes, the people are more important than the gifts, but why do we celebrate Christmas?  The gifts, the gathering of family and friends, and midnight mass are all symbols of love.  On Christmas God gave us His gift of love, His son, Jesus.  We can celebrate Christmas whether near or far, with sun or snow, with Feliz Navidad or Merry Christmas.  For God so loved the world...

The peace and joy of Christmas.

Go to the manger and gaze upon the baby Jesus

Know how much God loves you and live in that love.

                                                 A Blessed Christmas.

P.S. This is your Christmas card!
